C# Coding: Errors and Solutions

These are just some small Problems and their solutions i encountered so far in C#:

• Situation: Creating a C# Console Application
• Error Message [English]: "The type or namespace name
  'Windows' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an
  assembly reference?)"
• Error Message [German]: "Der Typ oder Namespacename 'Windows' ist in der Klasse oder dem Namespace 'System' nicht vorhanden (fehlt ein Assemblyverweis?)"
  
• Solution: You need to add the file "System.Windows.Forms.dll" as a reference to your project (Right click on references -> Add Reference -> .net tab)
  

Buying a Notebook - Some simple but important Criteria

Simple but important things for a long term usage:

• It has a HDD Light: You can see if the HDD is busy or not
• The Speakers are NOT at the Bottom
• Memory Cards go completely in: If you want to leave it in all the time, its important that half of it doesnt stick out
• The Battery doesnt stick out of the Case like (Sideview):
  
• There is a LED Light that turns OFF when the Battery is fully loaded
• You can open it up without needing to hold the bottom part down
• The Power Adaptor is not too big (see my Lenovo Review)

Ps: Technology is GREAT, users are bitchy ;)

Adding Code in your blogspot Post

Add this:

as HTML and change the Size of the Screen by changing the margin values.
You may need to use HTML code for new lines.

Disable Avira Notifications

For Windows XP:

1. Start-> Control Panel
   
2. Administrative tools-> Local security policy
   
3. Click on Software Restriction Policy-> Action (at the top)-> create new restriction policies
4. Right-click additional rules (on the right side)-> new path rule
5. Click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\(Avira)\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\ and double-click avnotify.exe
6. Set the security level to Disallowed-> apply-> ok

Note: Local Security policy is not availiable on XP Home Edition.

[GERMAN]:

1. Systemsteuerung
2. Verwaltung -> Lokale Sicherheitsrichtlinie
3. Richtlinien für Softwareeinschränkung
4. Action -> Neue Richtlinie erstellen
5. Rechtsclick auf "Zusätzliche Regeln" -> Neue Pfadregel
6. Durchsuchen -> avgnotify.exe im Avira ordner auswählen
7. Sicherheitsstufe -> Nicht Erlaubt

Hinweis: Lokale Sicherheitsrichtlinie ist nicht bei XP Home Edition verfügbar.

Got my new Lenovo S10-2..

After using a Dell mini for 1,5 Years i finally switched to an IBM Lenovo S10-2..

First off, it really amazes me how it is possible to "compress" a regular PC into something this small and silend and also increase its efficiency in terms of energy. I really appreciate what those guys are doing up there, but when it comes to little details that could have been better, these are my dislikes about the Lenovo S10-2:

-A Regular SD Card wont go completely in. This is annoying if you want to use a memory card for your netbook and constantly leave it in the card reader slot. Using a removable storage device is convenient if for example you want to copy some files on your netbook but dont want to turn it on. in this case you just pull out its memory card and copy your files on it.

-The Speakers are at the Bottom. Which is bad for high frequency sounds. For example Sounds like Cymbals/Hi-Hats in a song or quiet/whispering conversations in a movie are slightly "muted down" this way. Maybe this one doesnt seem that dramatic, but it really makes a difference!

-The Power Supply/Adapter is way too big. Im sure they could have made those smaller.

Bioshock 2

Took me only 3 days to finish Bioshock 2. It was emotional, bounding, realistic and GREAT! Im pretty sure im not the only one who made the final scene cry ^^

Since there are not many pictures of Eleanor, i tought i post this :

It was a strange moment too.. Finally facing her for the first time. Again: GREAT GAME! Play Bioshock 1 first if you still havent.
